Totem HIDE is the Nom Outdoor module designed to hide, organize and free up space in your van.
It was born as a dedicated compartment for the potty, designed to the dimensions of the main models on the market, but its real strength is its versatility: a space that does not impose a single use, but adapts to your way of travelling.
The large interior volume also makes it ideal as a general storage unit. The drop-down door can transform into a work surface or support, especially when combined with the Totem Slide , which can serve as a stable and modular base. A system that grows and changes with your layout.
Made of 15 mm poplar plywood, Totem HIDE is lightweight, stable, and easy to move. Fill it up at home, load it into your van, and you're ready to go. It arrives sanded with a natural finish, ready for use or customization, and integrates seamlessly with other Totem modules to create functional, organized, and easily reconfigurable spaces.
What's included
Each HIDE Totem is supplied as a complete kit for simple and immediate installation:
- Panels made of 15 mm poplar plywood
- Complete hardware kit for assembly
- 2 hinges for flap door
- 1 push & lock system for safe and clean closing
Assembly is intuitive and can even be done independently.

The Totem HIDE is designed to be as simple and quick as possible to assemble.
The structure is assembled with an interlocking and screw system, designed to make assembly intuitive and straightforward.
You will only need:
- A Phillips screwdriver
or - A drill/driver
All panels are pre-drilled, making assembly precise, tidy, and error-free.
Before inserting the screws, we recommend drilling a pre-hole in the shoulder of the panel that does not have a guide hole.
How to do:
- Place the two pieces side by side correctly
- Use a small tip
- Make the pre-hole
- Insert the screw
This helps the wood work better and makes the assembly even cleaner.

To further increase solidity over time, we recommend applying wood glue during assembly.
It is not mandatory, but it helps to make the structure even more resistant, especially in case of frequent use in van life.
Fixing to the vehicle
Each module is equipped with pre-drilled holes for fixing to the floor or side wall of the vehicle using the Nom Outdoor system.
You can choose to:
- Using the Nom Outdoor Fixing Kit
- Proceed with your own anchoring system
Dedicated holes are provided to simplify the work and make the installation more precise and tidy.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE
Poplar plywood is a natural material appreciated for its lightness and stability, but it tends to absorb humidity and stain if not treated properly, especially in environments such as the van.
To ensure a long life over time we recommend:
- Apply a protective impregnator before use
- Paint or refinish the module if it is intended for frequent use or in humid environments
- Avoid prolonged contact with water or condensation
- Clean with a damp cloth and mild detergents
- Always dry the module before storing it.
With proper protection, Totem HIDE will maintain its functionality, strength and appearance over time, even with intensive use on the go.
