The Nom Outdoor Bed is the solid foundation of your van.
It was created for those who want true comfort, a reliable structure and space exploited down to the last centimetre.
It is made of birch plywood: resistant, stable, built to last over time and accompany you in every season.
The configuration is modular. It adapts to your travel style.
The standard version features 4 drop-down doors with reinforced hinges and a push-lock system: easy opening, secure closing even while driving, and direct access to the entire space underneath.
If you prefer a different layout, you can add sliding shelves on the sides or front. Greater accessibility, same capacity.
The storage compartment utilizes the full length of the cabin. You can carry long, bulky gear like surfboards, skis, or sports equipment without sacrificing living space.
The bed offers a variable length from 184 cm to 193 cm thanks to the extensions included in the package.
The comb structure allows it to reach a maximum width of 129 cm, creating a large and stable surface for rest.
All panels come pre-drilled with metal bushings inserted. This means that if you want to add Nom Outdoor drawers in the future, the structure is already prepared for them. No structural modifications required. Just a natural evolution of your setup.
The structure is symmetrical: you can install it on either the right or left side of the vehicle, depending on the configuration of your van.

Inside the package you will find:

- All panels are labeled for easy and tidy assembly.
- 8 hinges for flap doors
- 4 push & lock systems for safe closing while driving
- All screws and plugs needed for assembly
ASSEMBLY
The Nom Outdoor Bed is designed to be as quick and easy to assemble as possible.
The structure is assembled with pins and screws, following an intuitive system designed to ensure resistance and stability over time.
You will only need:
- a Phillips screwdriver or drill/driver
All panels are already pre-drilled for dowels and screws, so assembly is precise and guided.
Each piece is labeled with a code, which you will find in the instructions: follow the code, join the pieces, and advance step by step.
The instructions are sent via email with your order confirmation. You can follow them directly from your phone or print them out and assemble them yourself.
For even longer life, we recommend using wood glue during assembly.
Each module is equipped with pre-drilled holes for fixing to the floor or side wall of the vehicle using the Nom Outdoor system.

MEASURES
The Nom Outdoor Bed is designed to adapt to the different internal configurations of vans, optimizing space without sacrificing comfort and functionality.
- Bed Width: The comb structure allows the bed to extend from a closed width of 79 cm to a maximum open width of 129 cm.
There are three stop levels already integrated into the structure: 110, 120 and 129cm.
You can use these references to have stable and defined openings, based on the space of your van or the comfort you desire (if you prefer, you can also not use the stops).
The bed can be opened freely to any point between 79 cm and 129 cm, adapting to your needs at the time.
- Available lengths: 184cm / 189cm / 193cm (necessary extensions are included in the package)
- Maximum load capacity: up to 220 kg
The modular structure allows the bed to be configured according to the space available inside the vehicle, ensuring stability, practicality and efficient use of every inch of the van.
MAINTENANCE AND CARE
The Nom Outdoor Bed is made of birch plywood: a solid, durable base suitable for travel use.
Birch is already a great starting point, but a van lives in variable conditions: humidity, condensation, cold, heat, saltiness, rain.
For this reason we recommend that you:
- apply at least one coat of protective impregnator to increase resistance to humidity and water
- protect the wood before facing particularly humid climates or intensive use
- avoid prolonged contact with stagnant water or condensation
- clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth
The wood comes with a natural finish, you can decide how to make it yours, you can leave it natural, paint it or oil it.

However, every van is different: it is always necessary to check the dimensions of the cargo area before purchasing.
On some models, small adjustments may be required, easily made with basic tools , to accommodate wheel arches, trim or interior shapes.
If you want extra support, you can send us measurements or a scan of your cargo space – we’ll be happy to make a simulation of how the Nom modules will fit in your van .

Is the Nom Outdoor Bed compatible with my van?
The Nom Outdoor Bed is designed to fit many van configurations, thanks to its modular and symmetrical structure.
It can be installed on both the right and left side of the vehicle.
We always recommend checking the measurements in the technical data sheet and comparing them with the internal space of your van, taking into account wheel arches, paneling and upholstery.
If you have any questions, you can write to us indicating the model and year of your vehicle.
Do you need to make any holes or make any permanent modifications to the van?
The bed is designed for simple and reversible assembly, without invasive interventions on the vehicle.
For safety reasons, the module must be secured.
The fastening methods depend on the vehicle, its use and local regulations.

Is the bed homologated?
The Nom Outdoor Bed is designed as an easily removable module, not permanently integrated into the vehicle.
For this reason, in most cases no approval is required, because the vehicle retains its original configuration and the module can be removed without structural modifications.
That said, regulations vary by country and vehicle use.
If you wish to proceed with an official approval (for example to convert the vehicle into a camper van), it is possible to do so, but it depends on local regulations and the route chosen.
In these cases we recommend that you:
- contact an approval center or authorized bodybuilder
- Check with the Motor Vehicle Department or the competent authorities in your country
- Evaluate the fixing methods and required documentation together with a professional
