Handmade custom mattress for vans. From bed to sofa in seconds.
Handmade in Italy by local artisans. High-density foam 35 kg/m³, 10 cm thick — comfortable enough to sleep on every night, compact enough not to take up space in the van.
One fixed part and one movable part: a backrest during the day, a bed base at night. Removable, water-repellent, and breathable cover — it unzips, washes, and reattaches.

Il Materasso Snodabile Van Nom è realizzato a mano in Italia da artigiani esperti. Non è un materasso domestico adattato — è progettato dall'inizio per la vita in van: materiali, spessore e rivestimento sono scelti per resistere a utilizzo frequente, umidità, sbalzi di temperatura e vita reale in viaggio.
Schiuma ad alta densità 35 kg/m³, spessore 10 cm — abbastanza spesso per dormire bene, abbastanza compatto per non rubare spazio nel van. Una parte fissa e una parte mobile che funziona da schienale in modalità divano e da piano letto una volta aperta.
Il rivestimento è sfoderabile, idrorepellente e traspirante. Si sfila, si lava, si rimonta. Disponibile in 4 colori.

Il materasso arriva confezionato sottovuoto. Dopo l'apertura lasciarlo all'aria per 2–4 ore per il completo ripristino del volume.
Rivestimento
- Completamente sfoderabile — si rimuove con le chiusure in velcro
- Lavaggio a mano o in lavatrice a basse temperature
- Evitare detergenti aggressivi o candeggianti
- Asciugatura all'aria — no asciugatrice
- Assicurarsi che sia completamente asciutto prima di rimontarlo
Protezione umidità
- Evitare esposizione prolungata ad acqua stagnante o condensa
- Aerare periodicamente il van
- Ruotare il materasso nel tempo per preservarne forma e comfort

What we are often asked about the Mattress
Is the mattress specifically designed for van life?
Yes.
The Van Nom Outdoor Mattress is designed specifically for van use, it is not an adapted home mattress.
Materials, thickness and coating are chosen to withstand: frequent use, humidity, temperature changes, real life on the go.
Is it suitable for everyday sleep?
Yes.
The high density foam (35 kg/m³) offers a good balance between comfort and support, making it suitable for everyday use, not just occasional use.
How thick is the mattress?
The mattress is 10 cm thick.
A deliberately balanced choice: thick enough to sleep well, compact enough not to take up space in the van.
Is it a firm or soft mattress?
It is a medium mattress, designed to support the body well without being rigid.
It doesn't sink too much, but it's not hard either: a balanced solution for those who travel and sleep in small spaces.
How do you clean it?
The cover is completely removable, easy to remove and clean.
It can be washed by hand or in the washing machine at low temperatures.
We recommend:
- avoid aggressive detergents
- do not use a dryer
- let it air dry
Is this only compatible with the Nom Outdoor Bed?
No.
The Nom Outdoor Mattress is also compatible with other bed systems, as long as the measurements are consistent.
That said, it is designed to work perfectly with the Nom Outdoor Bed, especially in the bed/sofa configuration.
