The Cook Kit is made for anyone who wants a simple, clean and smart van conversion. Two modules, one system, everything you need to set off — without compromise or getting lost in complex configurations.
The Nom Bed is the structural foundation of the setup: robust, configurable and designed to provide comfort, quick access to storage and maximum optimisation of the interior space. Its symmetrical structure allows installation on either the right or left side of the vehicle. The space underneath uses the full available length and is ideal for carrying long, bulky equipment.
The Nom Cook Compact completes the system with a genuine modular van kitchen: compact, sturdy and ready to use. An upper drawer for cutlery, a drawer for the stove, a pull-out worktop and a dedicated compartment for a portable fridge. Use it inside or outside the van.

The Cook Kit is designed to be as simple and quick as possible to assemble. The structure is assembled using dowels and screws, following an intuitive system designed to ensure long-lasting strength and stability.
- Tool required: Phillips screwdriver or drill driver
- All panels are pre-drilled for dowels and screws
- Every part is labelled with a code — follow the code, join the pieces and proceed step by step
- Instructions sent by email with the order confirmation
- We recommend wood glue for greater long-term durability
Securing to the vehicle
Each module has pre-drilled holes for securing it to the floor or side wall using the Nom Outdoor system. You can use the Nom Fixing Kit or your own anchoring system.

Birch structure
- Apply a protective wood treatment before use

Mattress
- Removable cover, washable at low temperatures; air dry
- Make sure it is completely dry before folding it away
- Air out the van regularly to maintain a dry environment
- Rotate the mattress periodically to preserve its shape and comfort

On some models, minor adjustments may be needed for wheel arches or interior linings. Send us your cargo area dimensions: contact us and we'll run a simulation together.
What we are often asked
Does the Cook Kit require permanent modifications to the van?
No. Both modules are designed to be fully removable. For safety during driving, they must be secured to the floor – but without drilling into the vehicle or making irreversible modifications. Your vehicle can revert to being a van whenever you wish.
Do I need type approval?
Nom modules are designed as removable elements, not permanently integrated into the vehicle. In most cases, homologation is not required. If you wish to proceed with official homologation, the process depends on local regulations and should be evaluated with a specialized center.
What type of stove can I use?
Nom COOK COMPACT is designed for portable stoves.
It is not tied to a specific model: we only recommend that you:
- check the measurements
- always use certified stoves
- follow the manufacturer's safety instructions
Can I fit a portable refrigerator?
Yes.
The lower compartment is designed to accommodate the main portable refrigerators on the market.
Before purchasing, always check the dimensions of the refrigerator and compare them with those indicated on the product sheet.
Is it compatible with other Nom Outdoor modules?
Yes.
It is part of the Nom Outdoor modular system and can be combined with the other modules to create your ideal setup.
Can I customize it?
Yes.
You can: leave it raw, treat it, paint it, adapt it to the style of your van.
