The Starter Kit XL is the ideal solution for anyone who wants to convert an L2 van simply, quickly and without complications. A complete modular kit — bed, mattress and Van Storage XL — designed to fit out your van in a single day and get it ready to go.
The modules are easy to assemble, designed to fit your vehicle’s space and attach to the chassis using a practical, reversible system. A solid yet flexible solution, ideal either as a base for a DIY conversion or as a ready-to-use configuration.
Made from birch plywood — strong, stable and naturally beautiful. Use it as it is, or customise and paint it to make every conversion as unique as the journey ahead.

The Starter Kit XL is designed to be as simple and quick as possible to assemble. All structures are assembled using dowels and screws, following an intuitive system designed for long-lasting strength and stability.
- Tool required: Phillips screwdriver or drill driver
- All panels are pre-drilled — assembly is precise and guided
- Every part is labelled with a code — follow the code, join the pieces and proceed step by step
- Instructions sent by email with the order confirmation
- We recommend wood glue for greater long-term durability
Securing to the vehicle
Each module has pre-drilled holes for securing it to the vehicle floor or side wall using the Nom Outdoor system. You can use the Nom Fixing Kit or your own anchoring system.

Nom modules fit most medium and large commercial vans — L1, L2 and beyond. Compatibility depends on the actual dimensions of your cargo area, not just the vehicle designation. Every van is different: always check wheel arches, interior panels and side clearances before purchasing.

Do you need to make any holes or make any permanent modifications to the van?
The bed is designed for simple and reversible assembly , without invasive interventions on the vehicle.
For safety reasons, the module must be secured .
The fastening methods depend on the vehicle, its use and local regulations.

Is the bed homologated?
The Nom Outdoor Bed is designed as an easily removable module, not permanently integrated into the vehicle.
For this reason, in most cases no approval is required, because the vehicle retains its original configuration and the module can be removed without structural modifications.
That said, regulations vary by country and vehicle use.
If you wish to proceed with an official approval (for example to convert the vehicle into a camper van), it is possible to do so, but it depends on local regulations and the route chosen.
In these cases we recommend that you:
- contact an approval center or authorized bodybuilder
- Check with the Motor Vehicle Department or the competent authorities in your country
- Evaluate the fixing methods and required documentation together with a professional
